Your Morocco itinerary 7 days starts when you get to Casablanca airport, your private driver will greet you and take you to Rabat, the capital city. When you’re in Rabat, check out the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the beautiful Kasbah of the Udayas, which looks out over the Atlantic Ocean.
After lunch, keep driving north over the Rif Mountains. You’ll pass lush valleys and small villages until you get to the pretty blue town of Chefchaouen. Get there in the late afternoon, check into your riad, and then spend the evening walking around the pretty blue-painted streets and resting in the calm environment of the medina.
After breakfast in Chefchaouen, take some time to walk around the medina and visit the main plaza, Uta el-Hammam, and the Ras El Maa waterfall for beautiful views. Then leave for Volubilis, an ancient Roman archeological site known for its well-preserved mosaics and ruins. Take a guided tour before heading to Meknes, where you’ll see the Bab Mansour gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the busy El Hedim Square. In the late afternoon, head toward Fes, the spiritual and cultural center of Morocco. Check into your riad when you get to Fes, and then have the rest of the evening free to unwind before the city tour the next day.
After breakfast, meet your local guide for a walking tour of the old medina of Fes. Walk through narrow streets full of artisan stores, souks, and old buildings. Next, keep driving to witness wild Barbary monkeys in Azrou’s cedar forest. Set off again to Midelt, where you’ll enjoy lunch with a view of the mountains. Thereafter, drive through the Ziz Valley, which has palm trees and oasis, until you get to the desert village of Merzouga.
You will switch to camels and ride over the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes, watching the sun set on your route to your desert tent. Have dinner outside under the stars while listening to traditional Berber music around the fire. Spend the night in the camp.
Get up early today to see the sunrise over the dunes and then have breakfast at the camp. Visit the settlement of Khamlia, where you can listen to Gnawa music, see fossil sites, and meet nomadic families in their tents to learn about how they live. You can do things like sandboarding or quad biking if you want to. In the afternoon, we transfer you to your accommodation in Merzouga to relax, swim in the pool, or walk on the dunes at sunset. Dinner and a night at the hotel, where you may enjoy the calm desert setting.
Leave the desert after breakfast and stop at Rissani to explore its traditional market, which is known for its dates and local crafts. Then set off toward the beautiful Todgha Gorges, where you’ll walk between huge canyon walls and see the river. After lunch, continue through the Dades Valley, which is famous for its red rock formations and historic kasbahs. Take pictures of the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and enjoy the view of the valley.
